Assistive AI In Our Everyday Lives

When we hear about artificial intelligence, we mostly relate it to tech which is either too expensive to own, or just not in the mainstream market yet.

Where Is Assistive AI?

Over the past 20 years, assistive AI has developed exponentially; from email filtering systems sorting out our spam folders, to AI on sites such as LinkedIn that help match candidates to the right roles. A more recent example comes from Google Maps, providing live traffic updates for bus journeys that forecast delays more accurately and updated travel times.

Assistive AI even goes as far as helping individuals with language disorders to translate speech into distinguishable words, learning patterns and adapting with the user.

The evolution of assistive AI can only benefit our society and improve the quality of our lives, but with the population becoming more aware of AI in our everyday lives, laws and legislation are going to need to evolve alongside.

Data Transparency

Assistive AI is out to support us in multiple facets of our lives, but does there need to be more transparency about the data being collected?
